The release month for Landman series two has been confirmed.
Landman is a drama series created by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame as well as Christian Wallace, based on the podcast Boomtown which is hosted by Wallace.
The official synopsis reads:
'Landman is set within the world of oilfields in West Texas, where "roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it's reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics." The lead character, Tommy Norris, can be abrasive, as is the out-of-town lawyer investigating a fatal accident early in the season.'
It stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, with Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie and James Jordan.
Sam Elliott will join the main cast as of series two.
The first series received mostly positive reviews from critics, however gained controversy for comments from Norris within the show with regards to climate change.
Norris claims that the amount of steel, concrete and oil required to build a wind turbine offsets the positive environmental impact for two decades.
"A 2019 study in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, assessing 4,161 turbines, estimated that the GHG payback time for wind varied from 1.8 to 22.5 months, averaging at 5.3 months compared to fossil fuels."
The show airs on Paramount + and the studio has confirmed that series two will air in December of 2025.
