Ewan McGregor has jokingly asked Star Wars fans to write to Disney to demand that a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi gets made.
Following the conclusion of the prequel trilogy, which was polarising to say the least. McGregor moved on to other projects and it seemed like he had put Star Wars firmly behind him. That was until an invitation to a Star Wars marathon at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood in 2017 when he was asked to introduce one of the prequel movies.
There, he caught the Star Wars bug again, and it wasn't long after that discussions began about a return as Obi-Wan, which eventually materialised into the aforementioned streaming series, which was a hit on Disney+.
There is clearly still plenty of story left to tell between the timeline of the show and A New Hope in which Obi-Wan is an old man, and it seems McGregor is desperate to return as the Jedi master.
"There was originally gonna be a movie, and I've often thought, should it have been a movie?" he explained at MegaCon Orlando.
"But I kinda think it's great that they did it that way, and it's a longer story, and hopefully it's more satisfying as a result. We got more time to weave a story. Let's hope they do another one. Can everyone write to Disney?"
No plans for Obi-Wan Kenobi season two
Unfortunately, McGregor recently revealed that there are no current plans for a second season as Disney is currently busy with a raft of other projects within the Star Wars universe.
“I would love to do the second season, but there’s no talk of it yet. There is a lot going on at Disney," he told Variety when asked about season two.
