The first trailer has been released for new comedy-horror series The Curse, starring Emma Stone and Nathan Felder.
The official premise reads:
'The series will explore "how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show, Flipanthropy.'
Stone and Felder play the newlyweds alongside Benny Safdie, Corbin Bernsen, Barkhad Abdi and Constance Shulman.
Felder and Safdie are also The Curse's co-creators and writers.
It will premiere on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime and Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on November 10, 2023. The first three episodes actually aired at the New York Film Festival back in October.
Stone is an executive producer alongside Dave McCary and Ali Herting through their Fruit Tree banner
After a look at the trailer, it is clear there are elements of both comedy and horror.
We can see that Felder's character Asher Siegel gives a young girl $100 while the cameras for his home improvement television show are airing to showcase his philanthropy. But, when the cameras are turned off, he snatches the bill back, which leads to the young girl putting a curse on him.
