Het Dorp achter de Muur plot
The severely outdated prisons of Vorst, Sint-Gillis and Berkendael must close and the detainees must be transferred to one large ultra-modern prison village in Haren. There will be room for 1,200 men and women. Jurgen Van Poecke, the general director of Brussels prisons, wants to realize his big dream together with his team. Haren will not only be the largest, but also the first prison in Belgium that works according to a new system aimed at humane detention. But there is a major staff shortage and the prison had to open too early. The move and the first months are therefore chaotic.
