Chloe plot

Becky still lives with her mother and works as a temp. She compares herself to the perfect lives on Instagram and compulsively goes back to one account: Chloe's. Becky obsessively watches her seemingly flawless life via social media. But when Chloe suddenly dies, Becky's need to find out how and why leads to a new identity and an "accidental" meeting with Chloe's best friend, Livia, and infiltrates Chloe's group of close friends.

Chloe season 1

Becky Green (Erin Doherty) is obsessed with childhood friend Chloe Fairbourne and follows her intensively on social media. When Chloe dies, Becky tries to take over Chloe's role and steps into Chloe's former life with a few excuses. What exactly happened? Why did Chloe take her own life? Or is there a perpetrator? The psychological drama Chloe slowly unfolds her mystery.

Despite the slow pace, Chloe continues to fascinate. But the implausible (such as the unlikely relationship between Becky and Chloe's partner Elliot, played by Billy Howle) ultimately make this 6-part series a tough one. The BBC-Prime Video co-production has produced a slick thriller, similar in style to several Harlan Coben film adaptations. Chloe captivates just enough, but doesn't excel anywhere.
