Four Lives plot

Stephen Port is a British serial killer who found his victims through the dating site Grindr. He was eventually caught and convicted of the rapes and murders of four young men, among a number of other serious offences. He is now incarcerated for life and will never be eligible for release. The police investigation initially got off to a slow start, because the murders were not recognized or recognized as such. This is to the great frustration of the relatives.

Well constructed, well cast and acted, this true-crime in which you are thrown off balance more than once by incomprehensible and, above all, clumsy action by the police. The epilogue gives it an even heavier dimension.

Security services and the judiciary often do not make the decisions that people, and certainly those involved, expect from them...

Sober, three-part true-crime drama about the murder of four young homosexuals. Four Lives is carefully made; no sensationalism, not too dramatic and quite predictable. It seems that director David Blair (Accused) wanted to portray the families purely, in a way comparable to the much better Danish The Investigation about the (submarine) murder of Kim Wall.

It delivers a solid yet flat drama that only comes to life in the final episode. Four Lives is not convincing anywhere, except in the honest portrayal of the terrible murders and incompetence of the British police. Less is more. That does not apply to Four Lives.
