Johan en de Alverman season 1

One of the most successful youth series ever from the BRT, and was also broadcast in the Netherlands and Italy. From before my time but thanks to vrt.nu I was able to watch it anyway. And I must say that I am charmed by what I saw. A really neat production, a lot of shooting on location - the Castle of Gaasbeek, Bokrijk and the caves of Foix-les-Caves. In combination with the music of MIklos Rozsa (borrowed from the movie The VIP's) the production values are fine.
The cast consists of toppers who have already earned their spurs in theater and other TV productions. Frank Aendenboom is fine as the no-nonsense hero, but the eye-catcher is Jef Cassiers as the Alverman, a role that fits him perfectly. After each episode, he is also allowed to perform as Alverman in a separate sketch that is most reminiscent of Het Manneke. The nicest and most colorful roles are undoubtedly reserved for Cyriel Van Gent and Alex Cassiers, alongside Dolf De Winter as the unforgettable import Indian Otorongo. But the women are also very strict with Rosemarie Bergmans and Chris Lomme who plan to do so.

Nice nostalgia of a decent level.
