The Inspector Lynley Mysteries plot

Thomas Lynley and his sidekick Sergeant Barbara Havers solve murders on behalf of New Scotland Yard. Despite the fact that their personal backgrounds are miles apart, Lynley and Havers complement each other excellently professionally, because of this they learn to respect each other. While developments on the professional front are positive, both detectives have a lot on their mind on a personal level. Lynley is still suffering from the marriage of the love of his life to his best friend and seeks comfort from his good friend Lady Helen Clyde. Meanwhile, Havers is weighed down by the age of her parents. It is becoming increasingly difficult to care for her mother, who has Alzheimer's.
