Light Yagami is a brilliant but easily bored high school student who is annoyed by all the corruption in the world. His life changes drastically when he finds a mysterious notebook, the Death Note. If someone's name is written in this notebook, that person will die. Light is skeptical at first, thinking it's just a joke. But after some experimentation and the deaths of two criminals, Light is forced to believe that the Death Note is real. After meeting the actual owner of the Death Note, a shinigami (Death God) named Ryuk, Light strives to become "the god of the new world" by banishing evil from the world using of the Death Note.

Desu Nōto season 1

I started this series 7 years ago and may have made it to episode 20. And for some reason I had stopped watching. Finally about 3 months ago I decided to check it out, but started again from the beginning because I feared that I would have forgotten too much and might become confusing to follow. And then I saw him all the way through.

I have to say that it would almost have been a masterpiece for me. It was great for the first 20 episodes, then it was pretty ok until the last 10 episodes. Then it really started to get less and with a weak ending for me personally. To be fair, my prediction for the ending wasn't far off, it's just a shame how it generally built up over the final episodes and came to a conclusion. And for that I am a little disappointed. But I still give it a big 4 because the first half was very well put together and in the second half there are still a few things that I am still satisfied with.

Desu Nōto season 1

For many people, it has been the bridge between DBZ and the better cartoon violence. Poops a bit after a masterly build-up, but the very last episode manages to bring the separate lines to a grandiose climax.
