The King: Youngwonui Gunjoo plot
Lee Gon, a modern-day emperor of the Kingdom of Korea, passes through a mysterious portal and ends up in an alternate reality where the Republic of Korea exists in the place of the kingdom. He runs into Detective Jung Tae-eul, whom he recognizes from a police badge he acquired during the turning point of his childhood, the murder of his father Lee Ho. Lee Gon's half-uncle, Lee Lim, the killer of Lee Ho, has gone into hiding and is gathering armies as he travels back and forth between the two parallel worlds.
