Due to the political unrest in Nicaragua, Stef Biemans flees with his family to southern Spain, the country where he had lived for fifteen years. To get to know Andalusia better, he writes letters to the local residents. He corresponds with them about matters such as migration, poverty, religion, former dictator Franco and the importance of (in-law) family. On the basis of these correspondences Stef tries to get to know his provisional home base better. Parallel to the stories arising from Stef's correspondence, attention is paid to his personal situation and to the crisis in Nicaragua.
