Boerenkrijg plot

The series revolves around the experiences in the inn 'Polle Post' in 1798. During the Boer War, Commandant Aimé, Sergeant Lafayette and their unit move into the inn and the stables. Manageress Bertha likes to see the soldiers come to maintain her business, but her husband Gust and daughter Sofie are part of the resistance. Gust's sister, Ivonne, also lives in the inn and, as a spinster, longs for her first love, something the French commander qualifies for. Neighbor De Gans is the self-proclaimed Brigand leader and lover of inn daughter Sofie and equally untalented in both positions.
