Under Capricorn plot

Charles Adare arrives in Australia from Ireland in 1831. He wants to get rich there. Sam Clusky can help him. He hopes Charles can also help his alcoholic wife, Henrietta. Charles falls in love with her, but when he hears that gold has been discovered in the outback, he leaves. Henrietta doesn't hear from him for months, and that doesn't do her any good.
