It seems like Trey Parker and Matt Stone didn't want to take 'The End of Serialization as We Know It' as literally as I thought and hoped. Season 21 feels like a half-hearted attempt to patch up the obvious problems of the previous series (such as the continuation of the storylines) but it too often continues to sneak back into pain points of the last few years. 'Put It Down', 'Hummels & Heroin' and 'Sons A Witches' are the best, but towards the end the old joke 'Mister Garrison is a kind of Trump' is used again to fill the last episodes. Well. Also the tributes - including those on Stranger Things/It - lack sharpness and feel like a mandatory song, as does the painfully unfunny 'Franchise Prequel' as a tie-in with the new game. Heidi and Cartman are nice. Kyle being back the moral conscience is a nice find. PC Principal has had his day, but that doesn't get any better with the arrival of Strong Woman (and Miss Conduct).
