Shit, cool series. Death Wish 2017 style. Although it is of course over the top (inhumane resilience), strangely enough it does not bite with the serious approach of PTSD and the CIA and Homeland stuff, and without the latter becoming pretentious .

Quite unusual... maybe because it's just well put together: music, script, cliff hangers, brutality every now and then and the characters, not to mention Lieberman.

By the way, I didn't have a single real snapping moment, not even in the middle part. Each episode has something to offer like Gunner in the woods (great camera work too) and the attack on the senator. It builds up to the climax with each episode.

Even with a plothole here and there, and theatrical stuff like the carousel at the end, The Punisher gets away with it. Ideal entertainment.

Semper Fi.

You know what's so great about The Punisher? Like Batman, The Punisher is just human. the

Punisher gets shot gets up and moves on. The Punisher gets shot

is patched up and continues again. The Punisher is Bad Ass. The Punisher is a man with a

mission. The Punisher is a man with focus. The Punisher, The Punisher, The Punisher: HOOYAH!

Thoroughly enjoyed season 1. The bullets are flying around your ears. Delicious! Season 2: here i come!

HOOYAH!

My expectations were not too high beforehand, but The Punisher was quite a surprise. The series contains a lot of hard and brutal action but also knows how to convince with its characters. The acting of Jon Bernthal in particular in the title role was very strong.

In addition to a lot of brutality and violence, there was also enough room for empathy and humanity and that made the series never feel like an interchangeable action series, but rather as a series that has something to offer on several levels.

The strong supporting female roles of Deborah Ann Woll and Jaime Ray Newman certainly contributed to that. The nicest character, however, was reserved for Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro.

The crooks were also convincing although episode 12 was too long for me and finally

something detracts from my rating. Here the violence goes too far and the strongest elements of the series for me get more into the background.

All in all, this was a very convincing action series that has a lot more to offer than you might initially expect.

On to season 2!
