This second season has a number of strong characters and developments (Hershell, Shane, Daryl) and also the necessary zombie gore is expressed in a number of pleasant moments. Unfortunately, the season also has plenty of boring moments and it all took me just a little too long on that farm.

What happened, Rick? I thought you weren't the good guy anymore. Ain't that what you said? Even right here, right now, you ain't gonna fight for 'em?
After a lot of internal debate, I've decided to rewatch season 2 as well. This used to be my favorite season, even though many found it far too slow. And to be fair, they have a point. But... if you focus solely on the pacing, you'll miss the subtle charm that makes this season so special.
This was the last season with a single, continuous storyline. From season 3 onward, the story is neatly divided into two separate arcs. And if my memory serves me correctly, this is also the last season where the Walkers truly pose the major threat. That's precisely what makes the first two seasons unique compared to the remaining seasons.
Then there's the dynamic between Lincoln and Bernthal: pure bliss! Bernthal, in particular, goes all out here. The constant battle over who's actually the "good guy" or the "bad guy" is so well-crafted. And yes, the episode "Better Angels" is, in my opinion, the absolute highlight.
All in all, after the rewatch, I have to admit: this is no longer my favorite season. But… those last four episodes? Still top-notch, and in my opinion, among the very best the series has to offer.
