Finally! Another more than decent season of Rick and Morty.

With only the finale still to come, I can say that almost every episode has a creative premise that is worked out in a fun way.

Never in the overwhelming way that happened in the first three seasons, but the often derailing hit-or-miss nonsense that has sometimes occurred in recent seasons is at least avoided, with the exception of perhaps episode four.

It's a shame that the humor is a bit less sharp and that little to no canon is built up until the penultimate episode (these are mainly standalone adventures) and that no episode really stands out, but there are tangible lessons learned from the blunders of previous seasons.

A bit of a pause for thought for the series, perhaps. But I feel like it captures the essence of Rick and Morty's potential much better.
