Crime plot

When a schoolgirl from Edinburgh is kidnapped, Inspector Ray Lennox, because of his own traumatic past, strongly identifies with the victim. He believes that serial killer Mister Confectioner is behind it, but his bosses are convinced that he is already behind bars. Lennox's insistence that they have the wrong man doesn't just bring him into conflict with his bosses. He also ends up on Mister Confectioner's radar himself. This draws the inspector into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game.

I give half a star more for Scott's acting, because there are some who don't do so brilliantly. The series is not bad, but I have seen much better from across the pond...
