Pretty nice series in a Navajo reservation that takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Monument Valley, I would watch for that alone. Been there a few times, this area where the horrible westerns with John Wayne were filmed. Nature is beautiful but terrible things have happened to the original population of course. The acting is mostly good certainly McClarnon is strong....

The six-part Dark Winds, set in the 1970s, starts with two good episodes but then falls flat due to a lack of suspense and stiff acting. The overwhelming focus on Native Americans, mystical experiences, and Monument Valley can't prevent Dark Winds from being rather generic. The hoped-for dark yet refreshing breath of fresh air—with Robert Redford as executive producer in one of his last projects—ultimately yields nothing more than a colorless drama.
