Hmmm... I'm less enthusiastic after all. The beginning is still quite mysterious and the concept is nicely set up.

Although it still feels a bit like not original in a new jacket. I found that the series does not manage to maintain the tension sufficiently and the level plummeted in the last two episodes. The whole is made for the masses, but lacks finesse. *3.0

Yes, a strong series indeed. It all looks slick and story-wise it is also in good order. Apart from a boring second episode, which mainly revolves around the introduction of the main characters, the tension is good. Aside from the VIPS, which were very mediocre, the acting was fine, and it was a joy for me to see the old actor, who is also the master in Kim Ki-duk's Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.. and Spring played.

Furthermore, many sadistic games with a lot of attention to how people deal with them psychologically. In that regard, the seventh episode is the absolute highlight. The ending is a bit of a shame. If you've won a game, you shouldn't get hurt at the hands of the game like happens to the girl, who should have won. The last game was also a bit lukewarm, and the open door to a second season shouldn't have been necessary for me either. Not perfect, but overall more than good. 4*.

I thought the beginning of Squid Game was very strong, but it also quickly got boring because it didn't really progress. From episode 5 I watched it at one and a half speed and even that was sometimes too slow.

Also some parts were very unbelievable: A police officer who can participate unseen, without being caught because he doesn't know the rules?

Soldiers robbing organs when there are cameras everywhere? To do that undetected you would have to bribe all the guards.

In 30 years has that game always remained a secret? Without the police investigating how the winner suddenly got so much money?
