With this season, the series descends further into unbelievability. The whole Lisbon escape in the first place. A tunnel has to be dug again, which took a whole season in the first season, but is now done quite easily. And furthermore, all switching tricks feel so forced that it does not help credibility.
Also, large parts of the plot feel repetitive. In addition to that tunnel, for example, also here a coup against the leader of the hostage situation, after which he takes over again to put things in order. And of course a super annoying Arturito.
Finally, a flashback every now and then to portray beloved characters who have died before and especially a song every now and then. It's starting to get very irritating.
On a positive note, there seems to be a bit more action with the escaped guard chief. It is a bit reminiscent of movies a mix of Alien and Die Hard as he crawls through the fan corridors to take out the gang members one by one.
In the end, a little less than last season, especially because of the songs. 1.5*.

Most of the reviews above are all quite negative and often I agree with the overall impression as well. But watched this last season with trepidation and was certainly not disappointed! Season 3 was really a lot less but this one continues well. Of course there are things that are implausible but the feeling remained good enough to see through. Something I have not been able to do with many films and series! I'm very curious how it goes!

Although I also think that people are milking this series, I still keep watching. I do hope that the fifth season will be the last, because you can't stretch this much further, can you?
It never gets as good as the first two seasons (which you can actually see as one long season), and that's only logical; this is a repetition of moves that regularly saddles me with a feeling of déjà vu, as if I've seen it all before.
On the other hand, of course, the series is brimming with action, and I simply find it exciting enough to keep following. The series also still contains several characters that can count on my sympathy, Helsinki first.
So it should be clear: I will also watch the fifth season.
