Not very great so far. The father's son is especially annoying. Viktor Strand, on the other hand, is a delightful character. Episode 7 is the low point so far and I personally find it insufficient.

This series is quite underrated though. FTWD scores a very poor 7.1 on IMDB, where TWD (which also has its weak episodes every season) scores an 8.6. Fear the Walking Dead is not brilliant, but it is certainly not as mediocre as many consider the series to be in my eyes.
This second season is a bit more stable in terms of quality than the first season. We'll of course start with the group on Strand's boat . This setting has some nice episodes, but I was also happy when they entered Mexico. Especially when the group splits up once , this second season will be really worth it. We are happy to say goodbye to Daniel Salazar (certainly not a favorite of mine), which might also benefit Ofelia's character. Nick's developments in the Colonia are also interesting to follow. However, the best season 2 has to offer, in my opinion, is the development between Travis and Chris. How I enjoyed their episodes. Strong acting also from both Cliff Curtis and Lorenzo James Henrie. The 'ending' of this storyline in episode 14 ('Wrath') ranks among the top three episodes of both FTWD and TWD as far as I'm concerned.
Of course Fear also has its downsides. It's still strangely/poorly written at times (with three blood streaks on your head you can suddenly find yourself among the zombies without them noticing you). I also think Kim Dickens is a miscast. Could also be the character, but she just doesn't arouse any sympathy. I also find the scenes on or near the sea sloppy, which sound like they were shot in an empty hall.

Can't stand in the shadow of big brother The Walking Dead for the time being, but at times this is quite intriguing and, not unimportantly, very exciting. This second series starts strong, collapses halfway through and ends great. So sometimes a bit of a bite, but it's worth it. The door to a third season is now wide open.
