Young Adora is an orphaned girl from Etheria, a planet in danger of being taken over by the Evil Horde. When Adora stumbles upon the magical Sword of Protection, she transforms into She-Ra, the power princess. In this guise, she joins some princesses to battle the Evil Horde and their ruthless leader, Hordak. What secret does the sword carry and does it have anything to do with its origin?
