Derry Girls plot

Derry Girls is set in 1994 and that is a troubled time in Northern Ireland. Armed agents and army checkpoints are part of the daily life of 16-year-old Erin and her friends. Erin lives with her mother who tolerates no contradiction, her father and grandfather Joe who cares about his daughters and granddaughters, but less with his son-in-law. Although Northern Ireland is in the news every day, she has her own problems: she is terrible with boys and no one understands her. She also has to deal with her cousin Orla McCool who lives next door with her mother Sarah. Orla is quite unpredictable and lives in her own world. Her friend Clare is especially smart and ambitious, while Michelle is big-mouthed and wants a boyfriend. Michelle's nephew, James has just moved to Derry and is an outsider with an English accent, because of that accent he also has to go to girls' school because the boys' school would be too dangerous, but that turns out to be a disappointment.

They just kept all the good stuff from season one. Tempo remains very high and nevertheless there are few jokes that fail. Uncle Colm is even better than in season one and I could listen to him for hours. Sister Michael is also even better than season one and I think she's pretty much my favorite cleric ever. Beautiful accents and even with the man in the company more is done this time, certainly as good as season one and absolutely laughed out loud again. I really recommend this series to anyone with even the slightest understanding of the concept of humor.
