The next James Bond movie will once again be a franchise reboot, with a new actor stepping into the role as 007.
Daniel Craig has officially retired from the franchise after the events of No Time to Die, in which his version of Bond actually died.
Even before Craig departed, there was speculation as to who would replace him as the most famous movie spy of all time. Names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Aaron-Taylor Johnson were favourites at different points both before and after the production of No Time to Die.
At the moment, Kick-Ass star Taylor-Johnson is the favourite, overtaking Damson Idris.
According to OddsChecker, he is the 11/4 favourite to be cast as Bond.
In second is James Norton at 5-1, while Idris has dropped down to third-favourite at 11/2. Cavill remains in the conversation at 11/2 also.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Taylor-Johnson was the favourite of Bond producers and that he had even donned the tuxedo to film his version of the iconic gun barrel sequence.
Who does the public want to be Bond?
The UK public previously voted on who they want to be cast as the next James Bond.
Via William Hill Vegas, 007 fans had the opportunity to have their say on who would be their top choice, with 3,500 members of the public voting.
Elba topped the standings with 17.5% of the vote. This is despite the actor himself previously ruling himself out of the running.
The main voting went as follows:
Idris Elba - 17.5%
Tom Hardy - 16.6%
Henry Cavill - 16.5%
James Norton - 10.1%
Luke Evans - 7.6%
Richard Madden - 7.5%
