The brand new trailer for Fast X has been released and it seems like Dominic Toretto and his team are up against their biggest foe yet.
The Fast and Furious franchise has become a box office juggernaut over the last few years after a shift was made to heist movies from the previous focus on street racing.
Fast Five started that shift, and Fast X will certainly lead on from the events of that movie, judging from the trailer.
Momoa apparently plays the son of the primary villain of Fast Five, Hernan Reyes, who was killed in that movie following a bank robbery by Dominic Toretto and his team. In Fast and Furious 10, he will feature as Dante Reyes, who is targeting Dom and his 'family'.
The actor previously said of Dante:
"I get to be the bad guy finally. I’ve been the good guy for a while. He’s very sadistic and androgynous and he’s a bit of a peacock. He’s got a lot of issues, this guy. He’s definitely got some daddy issues.”
Now, we know that these issues directly relate to the death of his father in Fast Five.
Fast X is set for release in May of 2023 and stars Vin Diesel, Momoa, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Brie Larson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Cardi B, Rita Moreno, and Charlize Theron.
In the new trailer, Dante leads an assault on Dom's team throughout the streets of the Vatican City in Rome. Thereafter, he systematically targets members of Dom's family.
