One of the upcoming stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been tipped to become the next big thing in Hollywood by one of his co-stars.
Jonathan Majors, who has already featured as a version of Kang the Conqueror in Loki, will next appear for Marvel in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in which he will be the chief villain.
In fact, he is set to be one of the main antagonists in the next phase of Marvel movies as one of the next Avengers pieces is named The Kang Dynasty.
Majors has numerous critically acclaimed roles under his belt already, and has also joined the Creed franchise where he will go up against fellow Marvel alumni Michael B. Jordan.
Glenn Powell, who stars alongside Majors in Devotion, believes the latter is going to take the industry by storm.
"You know how everybody's always like, 'Okay, the next whatever, the next whatever,' it's like, I never could say with more confidence that he's gonna be around for a very long time. Like this guy, he is so focused," the Top Gun actor said on the Lights, Camera, Barstool podcast.
"He's so good at his job. That's what makes him so different is he's just, his focus and his intensity is like nothing I've ever seen before. But yeah, I'm proud of him; I'm proud to share the screen with that guy."
Majors as Kang the Conqueror
Majors has revealed a few details that attracted him to the role of Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now that Thanos has been dispatched of, the MCU has been looking out for the next 'Big Bad' to take on the Avengers in the next ensemble movie which will bring a variety of Marvel heroes together.
The actor says the "dimensions" of the character attracted him to the role.
When asked by Variety if he and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty director Destin Daniel Cretton had spoken about that project, he responded:
"We just had a few chats. We spoke a very long time, and he's an open mind, he's an open heart, and he's grounded.
"He and the work that he does is grounded, and I think that's the most important part about it, that we're dealing with myths, you know? What is a Kang? What is a movie? What is an MCU movie, you know? What does that mean? What does that look like?
"Those are the questions we're asking, but all of that works when it's grounded and really, really tucked into the given circumstances of what's going on between these people, and what we can illuminate for ourselves as a species.
"It was the character and dimensions of Kang (that attracted him to the role). And the potential that it had.
"I thought, 'I’ll take a chance on that.'"
