There are three major cinema releases in U.S. theaters this week, and we have all the details for you.
2024 was a massive year for cinema, with the summer period flourishing thanks to the releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The movies were released around the same time and many theater-goers actually did the double-feature, which was affectionately named 'Barbenheimer'.

New Movie Releases this week
A new Mean Girls movie will be released this week based on the musical, which is, in turn, based on the original 2004 movie.
Tina Fey wrote both and returns as her character Mrs. Norbury.
The official premise reads:
'New student Cady Heron gets welcomed into the top of the social food chain by an elite group of popular girls called the Plastics, ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George. However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina's ex-boyfriend, she soon finds herself caught in their crosshairs.'
Mean Girls cast: Angourie Rice, Renee Rapp, Auli?i Cravalho, Christopher Briney, Jaquel Spivey, Bebe Wood, Avantika, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Phillips, Jon Hamm and Connor Ratliff.
Jason Statham's next action epic is The Beekeeper, directed by David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer.
Official premise:
'Mr. Clay is a former operative of a clandestine organization called 'Beekeepers'. After his friend and neighbor dies by suicide after falling for a phishing scam, Mr. Clay sets out to exact revenge against the company responsible.'
The Beekeeper cast: Jason Statham, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad and Jeremy Irons.
The Book of Clarence is an epic biblical comedy-drama film written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, with Jay-Z on board as a notable producer.

'A struggling down-on-his-luck man named Clarence living in A.D. 33 Jerusalem looks to capitalize on the rise of Jesus Christ by claiming to be a new Messiah sent by God, in an attempt to free himself of debt and start a life of glory for himself.'
