'A girl who goes through a difficult experience begins to see everyone's imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real-life friends have grown up.'
At LA ComicCon in 2023, Krasinski and Reynolds provided a few details for what we can expect.
“I had this idea for a movie years ago about imaginary friends," said Krasinski as footage was revealed.
“It’s a live-action Pixar film,” says Reynolds in the footage. In the trailer, his character strikes up a friendship with the young girl mentioned in the plot outline, played by Cailee Fleming.
“I want this movie to be believing in something bigger…and getting you through something bigger, that’s possible,” added Krasinski.
The director previously revealed to EW that the idea for the movie was born out of the imagination of his daughters, whom he shares with his wife Emily Blunt.
"I was so enamoured by the world that my kids were going to by themselves," Krasinski said. "They were off on their own and clearly deep in imagination, whether it was a game, whether it was painting, whether it was doing art, all this stuff. They went into this locked-in place that I wish I could have visited."
The movie boasts a hugely impressive live-action and voice cast including Reynolds, Krasinski, Fleming, Louis Gossett Jr, Fiona Shaw, Bobby Moynihan, Alan Kim Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Steve Carell, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Maya Rudolph, Vince Vaughn, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Awkwafina, Jon Stewart and Richard Jenkins
