The event will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and has been billed as billed as 'Once In A Lifetime' and 'There Can Only Be One'.

Due to Alvarez and Crawford dominating their respective weight classes for years, this fight has undoubtedly been years in the making.

The bout was officially announced in June of 2025 with the event taking place on 13 September, with Netflix being the official broadcaster.

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, is heavily backing the fight financially. He has opted to add a 'knockout bonus' to proceedings so either Canelo or Crawford will receive a significant bonus payment if they knock their opponent out during the 12 rounds.

"We will not have anymore," Alalshikh said at the kickoff presser in Riyadh. "We will have in this fight and our next fights a bonus for a KO."
