Aaron-Taylor Johnson has, sort of, responded to the rumour that he has been offered the role of James Bond.
Ever since Daniel Craig hung up the tuxedo after No Time to Die, speculation has been rife as to who will replace him as 007.
In 2022, it was reported that Taylor-Johnson had impressed Bond producers and even filmed a version of the famous gun barrel sequence.
This week, it was reported that Taylor-Johnson had been offered the role, according to The Sun.
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back," a source told the publication.
“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
When asked by Rolling Stone about the Bond rumours, Taylor-Johnson was diplomatic in his response, saying:
“I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell. So, The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I’m here to promote those.
“I don’t feel like I need to have a future drawn out for me. I feel like: whatever’s drawn out for me, I can f**kin’ do better.
“It’s the best when you sometimes lose all inhibitions completely, and you feel like you’re dangling there, and the director has sort of got one finger on the back of your shirt, so you don’t fall. It’s all about chasing that feeling. There’s nothing so exhilarating as that.”
