Westbound Mail plot

The gold mine of 'Gun' Barlow is no longer profitable. Barlow tries to buy an adjacent plot of land owned by the post office manager Marion Saunders. He expects his vein of gold to continue under Marion's territory. However, on her father's deathbed, Marion promised not to sell this land. Marion therefore refuses to sell this piece of land to Barlow. Marion also owns the local stagecoach line, and Barlow, 'Bull' Feenstra and Steve Hickman plan mysterious accidents involving her stagecoaches, hoping to change Marion's mind. The trio hire Slim and Shorty to do the dirty work for them. Coachman Andy is seriously injured in an attack on a stagecoach. Andy can still tell the passer-by Jim 'Skinner' Bradley who the perpetrators were.
