Trailing Trouble plot
Ranch helper John 'Friendly' Fields is sent by Patience Blair to help out at the 'Blair Ranch'. John must raise money from the sale of the cattle that were lost among the cattle of the Crocker Ranch. However, John is mistaken by Tom Crocker as the infamous outlaw Blackie Burke. John turns out to be wearing the same hat as Burke. Crocker does pay John, but then sends his henchmen after him to kill John and get the money back. John is able to shake off these henchmen and then gives the money to the Blairs. Dunn, the Blairs' housekeeper, also thinks that John is Burke and she warns Sheriff Jake Jones.
