Hugh Nichols (Tom Mix) has many possessions and travels incognito through his estates. He discovers that his steward, Frank Dunlap (Cyril Chadwick), is trying by force to evict Peggy Swain (Clara Bow) and her father from the neighboring ranch. The decent Nichols confronts Dunlap about his misbehavior towards the tenants. But the villainous land manager is now really angry and won't stop. He has a nearby dam blown up, flooding the entire valley and threatening to drown both Peggy and her father.
