Sylvia Clark (Helen Parrish) heads west with one-year-old Rodney, whom she is guardian, where the boy has inherited a ranch with cattle. When she arrives, she finds the ranch completely haggard, the cattle stolen, the water supply cut off and the mortgage two weeks behind. Fortunately, Roy Rogers and Gabby Hayes pass through the area. They find Sylvia in great despair and Roy suspects that there is some trickery involved to take the ranch away from them. He therefore decides to stay and assist the helpless woman.
