River's End plot
Sergeant Connie Conniston and his alcoholic guide Pat O'Toole are on the trail of escaped killer John Keith. They catch Keith in the farthest corner of Northern Canada. Keith turns out to look like Conniston like two drops of water. The sled overturns on the way back. Keith takes the gun and leaves Conniston and O'Toole in the snow for dead. Keith soon regrets this and brings them both to safety in an emergency cabin of the Canadian mounted police. Conniston dies of a frozen lung. O'Toole becomes convinced of Keith's innocence and refuses to turn him over to the law. He lets Keith pose as Connie Conniston.
