Nevada plot
"A yarn of the days when the West was young...by the King of Western writers!"
Jim "Nevada" Lacey, along with his partner, is on the run from the law. In the town of Winthrope, they watch a drunken rancher lose his ranch with cards to a cheater. Jim wins back the ranch for the rancher, but it's too late... the rancher has committed suicide. That makes Jim the new ranch owner. Jim sets out with his new neighbors to deliver a herd of cattle. The neighboring ranchers don't trust Jim because of his criminal past and he is even suspected of working with cattle thieves. After some employees are mysteriously murdered, distrust becomes so great that Jim is asked to leave the group. Jim and his partner leave the group, but stick around to solve the case and clear their names.
