Rancher's farming brother Bill Martin is killed by a herd of runaway cattle, provoked by a rancher. Bill returns to Fargo Country to take his brother's place. City boss Austin ruthlessly represents the interests of the livestock farmers with his henchmen Red Olsen, Link and Alvord. Bill plans to install barbed wire with the help of barbed wire expert Tad Sloan to keep livestock at bay in the hopes of protecting the agricultural farmers' farmland. The ranchers file a lawsuit arguing that this barbed wire is dangerous for their livestock, but they lose this lawsuit. Austin then orders his men to capture Bill and wrap him in barbed wire before throwing him off the town hall stage at a festival. However, Bill gears up for an armed fight against Austin, his three henchmen and the ranchers.
