Dead Man's Trail plot

"BULLET-BLAZING SUSPENSE as Johnny goes into action against the Black Hills gang!"

Texas Ranger Johnny Mack Brown is sent after escaped convict Walt Winslow. Winslow robbed a post office and the $100,000 loot never surfaced. Brown finds Winslow, who is mortally wounded in a stagecoach, after being ambushed by Winslow's old gang. Winslow manages to mumble something before taking his last breath, but Brown has no idea what Winslow was trying to convey. Winslow, Walt's honest brother, works at a bank and is forced by a corrupt deputy sheriff to give the safe's combination to the gang. The sheriff is murdered and Dan is sent to jail. Meanwhile, Amelia Winslow, Walt and Dan's mother, arrives in town with an old painting under her arm.
