Zastava plot

At the Republic Day ceremonial academy, ballerina Marija tells her younger colleagues that she has no regrets about being absent from several performances over the last three years. She spent that time in the partisan liberation struggle, which for her is much more important and meaningful than just theater work. She then shares her wartime experiences, such as her meeting with Ustasha captain Vuksan in 1942 and her decision to join the Kalnik partisans after a shocking event in Karlovac.
