Waiting for Dublin plot

New Year's Eve 1944. Lieutenant Mike Clarke celebrates his last night before departing for Europe as a fighter pilot. A glut of alcohol leads him to make an impossible bet with mob boss Vito Massuci. The terms dictate that Mike must become a "war hero" by shooting down at least five enemy planes. When Mike and his copilot get lost on a return flight a few months later and end up in Ireland without fuel, he seems to have lost. Until he encounters a German deserter with a Messerschmidt in the local village.
