Vlcie Diery plot
Slovakia, 1944. The Germans are pushed back by the Soviets and in Slovakia partisans try to resist the Germans and the fascist Slovak government. The widow Svrčinová lives with her four sons in a village in the mountains. Son Matúš fled from Germany, where he was forced to perform forced labour, and joins the partisans, just like his brothers Jano and Štefan. Brother Ondrej, bitter and handicapped, has returned from the Eastern Front and does not agree with his brothers, as the villagers often have to suffer after a partisan action. The love of both Ondrej and Matúš for the beautiful Anča further sharpens the relationship between the brothers.
