Obsessed plot

As a 12-year-old girl, Carol Smith sees her parents' marriage fail. Her mother goes mad with anger when her husband leaves them and the woman falls into depression. Years pass and Carol is now seventeen years old and a beautiful young girl who lives with her bedridden mother, who has never really recovered from the blow. Despite the fact that Carol still has a brother and sister and is assisted by a domestic help, she is the only one who is allowed to visit her mother in her bedroom. Strangely enough, her mother knows all about Carol's life.
