After the death of her parents, the newly orphaned Cath travels north. She inherited a house on the lake. There she meets Ryan, a sympathetic man who used to work for her parents. He looks forward to filling the void left by Cath's parents. With multiple moons in the sky and something strange lurking in the forest, the two begin to form an unusual bond with each other. As the relationship develops and motives are revealed, Cath begins to realize that she should have stayed home.
