Deadbolt plot

Marty, a medical student, lives under heavy pressure from her internship in the hospital and her studies. When her apartment is broken into one night, she decides it's safer to get a roommate. Preferably a male roommate. The charming Alec seems to be the ideal candidate and despite the suspicions of Jordan, Marty's ex-husband, he moves in with her. However, Alec turns out to be more than a caring tenant; he spies on Marty day and night and begins to control her life. He gets rid of anyone who stands in her way. Slowly but surely, he isolates Marty from her friends, family and work. When she starts to notice his psychopathic behavior, it seems too late.
