When fishermen find a body in their net, Detective George Meyrick (John Gordon Sinclair) sets out to uncover the identity of the dead man. It looks like an accident, but the victim appears to be weighted down. Albert Walker, originally from Canada, was suspected of the murder, but Meyrick discovers that Paul Morrow (Alan Scarfe), an alleged friend of the victim, has now assumed his identity. Meyrick begins a quest for the con man.
