A film with a very original story and a great atmosphere. The acting is very good and the soundtrack enhances the atmosphere and builds the tension, elevating the film to a higher level. Excellent cinematography as well. The film is probably too slow for some, but I didn't find that annoying, nor did I feel it dragged at any point. Simply a very good film.

Good story in this gothic horror. Well, horror, exactly. Asphyx relies mainly on a macabre and atmospheric mise-en-scène. Reflections on immortality constantly lurk through the dialogue, and I quite liked the twist the film takes. Nice and classic and Hammer-esque, and a success as far as I'm concerned. This also served as the warm-up for my Halloween evening.
