Deep in an underground silo, the last remnants of humanity are divided by a social class that keeps politicians and scientists away from the rabble and the mob. While the civilians starve, freeze and are forced to work in a dangerous, chemically deadly environment above ground, all resources are devoted to the construction of ABEL. A humanoid life form designed to search for and interact with other survivors. dr. Eve Gabriel, chief scientist, works on her soldiers with the enormous burden of humanity's fate. But when a civil revolt erupts in her lab and she is injured, Eva makes a shocking discovery.
