Prostoy Sluchay plot
During the revolution, two brothers fight against each other. One (Pavel) for the Red Army, the other for the counter-revolutionaries. Pavel tells a friend about his experiences as an officer in the Red Army and how his wife nursed his wounds when he came home wounded.

Beautiful Soviet cinema in which Pudovkin lets loose in the montage with an orchestra of crashing raindrops and bombs. Actually the story is only a side issue. A nice staredown between the father, son and house cat, who refuses to listen to the commands and is shown the door.
