By Whose Hand? plot
When the notorious criminal Killer Delmar escapes from prison, the editor-in-chief of The Morning Gazette orders his best journalist Jimmy Hawley to go to the train station. Delmar is expected to attempt to catch the overnight train from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Jimmy, however, reluctantly goes to the station. While the police search in vain for Delmar, Jimmy falls in love with Alice Murray when she kisses him during the confusion caused by a wedding party. Meanwhile, Delmar has slipped into the train in a coffin.
